paci or thumb?

Both! Sometimes Emma Kate likes to stick her thumb in her paci while she is sucking. I found this out one night while I was frantically looking for it. She had woke up in the middle of the night and I guess she couldn't find it either. While holding her I searched the crib, under her lovey, on the floor... it was on her thumb. It actually "pops" when you pull it off. Funny girl.

mother's day out

Ryne started MDO today. He is attending two days a week at a church that is like two minutes away from our house. It's from 9:30 to 1:30 and I must say those four hours go by FAST!

With his clear backpack totally packed and his water and toothbrush in hand (neither which he took in), we headed to school. As we pulled in the drive the pastoral staff was there handing out Otis Spunkmeyer muffins to the moms/dads in the carpool line. I KNEW I had chosen the right school. When I dropped him off he was a little unsure about the lady grabbing him out of his car seat. He had his name tag on so the teacher called him by name, that really helped. With a little lump in my throat I told him to have fun and that I would see him in a bit. I had no idea I would be so emotional. I mean the road did get a little blurry as I was driving away.

Four hours later he was back in his car seat telling me about his day. His report sheet said he was happy and did very well eating his lunch (he ate every bit of it!). He's going to do just fine...

eight months old

Emma Kate is not really cruising yet, but she is climbing. I ran down stairs to the garage this morning for less than a minute... to throw Ryne's backpack in the car and when I came back up she had climbed the stairs heading up to the third level. She was on the landing!!! That's eight steps!!! Needless to say, the gate went up ASAP. She is so much more agile than Ryne was at this age.

*updated again* going private

Hello Family and Friends,

After much deliberating, I have decided to make this blog private... by invite only. Sometimes Alan and I feel that there is too much information put out there. In a crazy world such as this I don't think we can ever be too careful when it comes to protecting our little ones... or ourselves, for that matter. So beginning October 1st this blog will no longer be accessible to random strangers. With that said, if you would like to continue to read this blog, great, you can. I will need you to email me at janetpaquette@hotmail.com so that I will know to add you to the list. Just type blog invite in the subject line. Also, September's posts will not be published until after my blog is private. Looks like you will have to wait to find out what exciting things the Paquettes are doing this month. wink.
UPDATE: This blog will be private by October 3rd. To all who have sent me an email (no, "it's not too late") you will be added. I have a few edits I need to do before I publish September's post... and I'm too tired to finish everything tonight (it's almost 11:00!) so you will just have to wait a little longer. Remember... "patience is a virtue". Ha! I should keep reciting that to myself.
